Profile for lysis

Hi there.

I'm a game developer - play my games.

Rocket Racers now up, with achievements!

the Rocket Racers mascot

I also have a developer website, which has a couple more smaller games I didn't bother to upload here.

If you really liked Rocket Racers, you could buy some merchandising. Show your love, and help me pay the bills.

banky banky banky...
It IS my game - I designed it, programmed it, drew most of the graphics and created the levels, made up the racer backstories in the instructions...

It's sponsored by addictinggames - this is similar to why some sports have adverts at the side of the pitch, and some TV shows have little 'sponsored by' clips at the start and end (and bracketing the advert breaks).
Addicting Games paid me money to put that advert in - after I'd already made the game. The possibility of getting money for it is why I could spend the time to make it in the first place.

If you look carefully, you'll see that there is:
a) A logo animation at the start, after the AG flash - if you let that play out rather than just clicking skip you'll see what it says. (Clue - 5 letters, begins with L)
b) 'by Lysis' on the main menu, you could click that and see where it goes. And
c) a credits section at the end of the instructions. I basically did everything apart from what I got other people to do...

So, I hope that makes it clear. I did develop it, so I had the data to make a special version with achievements in, 'cos I love Nonoba so much.

Theoretically, it is technically possible to put achievements onto some games at least, if you know how other website's APIs work and can derive or guess what the dev. did. But I really wouldn't recommend doing that - if you've got the ability, you could write your own game. If not, you'd be better off contacting the original dev. and asking them to upload it to Nonoba, and mentioning the achievements system.
