The lag is gonna be a bit difficult to fix, unless I just limit the number of water particles you can have on screen.
This was mainly done for a school project to see if it was even possible to simulate 2D water in any sensible way, and for that I think it was quite successful.
However, it really pushes the limits for what can be done in Flash speed-wise, so prettying it up would for the most part just slow it down even more.
Instant replay is a good suggestion, but I've moved on to other stuff long ago, and will put up the source for others to play with whenever that feature comes to Nonoba.
